Geoeconomic Resilience: Why Materials Matter More Than Ever

For decades, industrial competitiveness was built on efficiency, scale and globalization. Today, resilience has become equally important.

As geopolitical tensions rise, industrial policies evolve and value chains become more complex, materials are emerging as a critical source of competitive advantage. They influence how we build batteries, manufacture semiconductors, improve energy efficiency, design for circularity and accelerate the transition to a lower-carbon economy.

As the Adhesive Solutions segment of Arkema, a global leader in specialty materials, Bostik brings a unique perspective on these transformations. Through Arkema’s presence across the value chain—from feedstocks and material science to formulation expertise and end-use applications—the Group benefits from a unique understanding of how innovation creates value across industries.

Through examples spanning battery technologies, circular economy solutions, bio-based material platforms and next-generation adhesive technologies, Laurent Peyronneau will discuss why the future of industrial resilience depends not only on securing resources, but also on creating new material platforms, enabling circularity and accelerating innovation.

Ultimately, geoeconomic resilience is not only about protecting existing business models. It is about creating the materials, technologies and partnerships that will enable the industries of tomorrow.
